Algae control
The main causes of algae formation in water basins are exposure to the sun and temperature.
Algae growing in drinking water tanks or an aerated lagoon system increases both the TSS and CBOD5 of the effluent, deteriorating the taste of the water, risking filtration systems becoming clogged, increasing the cost of necessary chemical treatment.
Because algae reduce water quality and play no beneficial role in drinking water and wastewater lagoons, preventing their growth is important for systems to function properly.
Cover Ball reduces the surface exposed to UV rays by up to 91%, reducing the formation of algae and the passage of sunlight and therefore photosynthesis. This type of floating cover is used to shade tanks and lagoons, even aerated ones. In the case of the latter, the coverage must be sized so as not to cover the entire surface of the lagoon, especially in the presence of mechanical surface aerators where it is important to leave sufficient open space.
Cover Ball adapts to any shape and any change in water level providing perfectly adaptable surfaces for most aerators.
